A mood disorder is a mental health condition that affects the emotional state. It can be characterized by extreme sadness (depression) or extreme high (hypomania or mania).

Depressive disorders
Causes a person to feel anxious, sad, and cranky
A person loses pleasure in all activities
Affects a person’s energy level and quality of life
Causes disturbances in sleeping and eating patterns
Increases suicidal thoughts
Affects the ability to focus and function normally
Causes feelings of guilt and worthlessness
Bipolar Disorder
Causes a disruption in mood, causing it to go extremely high (mania) and low (depression).

Causes impulsive behaviors
Causes someone to feel on top of the world (feeling of being superior to others)
